Childrens Cribs Recalled
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a voluntary recall of more than two million cribs to address safety hazards to young children. The cribs involve drop down side models which create a dangerous gap that children can become trapped in, resulting in suffocation or strangulation.
The brands of cribs affected were:
- Evenflo: Jenny Lind models
- Delta Enterprises Corp.: drop-side plus every model that uses a wood stabilizer bar
- Child Craft: drop-side and stationary side cribs
- Jardine Enterprises: sold by Toys R Us and Babies R Us
- LaJobi: Bonavita, Babi Italia and ISSI brand cribs
- Million Dollar Baby
- Simmons Juvenile Products Inc.
No deaths have resulted from the defective products, but 250 incidents and 27 injuries to infants and toddlers that have been reported to the CPSC.
